Farm-fresh air, barefoot paths and the Alps’ first solar-heated hay-bath Hotel Stern is a third-generation farm turned Familotel: cows still graze out back yet every corridor hides stroller-wide lifts and plug covers. The Bauernhof playground mixes a zip-line with a sand pit full of diggers. Rain sends families to the hay-barn soft-play (yes, real hay) and a craft lab where toddlers press edelweiss into postcards. Two-room family suites feature oak floors, cot, step stool and terrace. Dinner begins 17 h with veggie soup served in bendy silicone bowls; adults tuck into Tyrolean tapas once kids dash to the 18 h mini-disco. A zero-entry panorama pool warms to 33 °C and faces the Mieminger Plateau—parents float on bubble beds while toddlers splash inches away. Evening babysitting (€15 / h) frees grown-ups for the trademark hay-bath and schnapps tasting under a 500-year-old beam ceiling. Winter adds a free shuttle to the flat beginner ski meadow (400 m). Summer stars the barefoot sensory loop: bark mulch, marble stones and cool stream mud—hose showers wait at the end. Fresh mountain air plus blackout curtains mean bedtime battles rarely last long.
